The Library at Ephesus
The Library at Ephesus, built by the Romans in the 2nd century AD, is thought to have once held over 12,000 scrolls, including works by playwrights and philosophers who are live characters in in Pericles and Aspasia.

The great breakwater at Samos
This breakwater, built in the 19th century, like the original breakwater of ancient Samos. shelters the vast harbor from northerly winds. I went to see it so as to better understand the battles and naval maneuvers in and around this harbor that figure in the story Pericles and Aspasia.
